March 31, 2022 Chairman NEPRA hosted the MoU signing Ceremony between Port Qasim Electric Power Company and Akhuwat under the Power with Prosperity Drive of NEPRA CSR. Under the Leadership and vision of Chairman NEPRA, the Power with Prosperity drive is facilitating the power sector players to invest in the social uplift projects for the communities they’re working with. Till now, K-Electric, Engro Energy Limited, and Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO) have signed MoUs with Akhuwat to provide interest free loans to the needy members of the community for enabling access to power through solar PV rooftop solutions.
October 08, 2021 - Chairman NEPRA, Mr. Tauseef H. Farooqi along with NEPRA delegate visited KAPCO to attend the MoU signing ceremony as Chief Guest between KAPCO and Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance for Solar Support Program under NEPRA’s CSR drive ‘Power with Prosperity’ to provide better access to affordable clean solar energy solutions to the unserved and underprivileged communities of Pakistan. The delegate also inaugurated the library of Govt. Boys High School, at Tehsil Kot Addu. Chairman NEPRA visited KAPCO plant site, residential colony, school, officer’s club and girl’s hostel. October 06, 2021 - NEPRA has embarked upon a massive CSR drive called ‘Power with Prosperity’. So we decided to offer solar power solutions to the unserved communities in Pakistan. Today is a historic day as we brought Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance (AIM), K-Electric and Engro Energy together, who all signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today at NEPRA HQ. They agreed to offer interest-free microfinance loans (Qarz-e-Hasna) to households and small business owners for the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. We at NEPRA believe that this is just the beginning of what we see as the mega community development CSR Projects by our Licensees in the days to come.
